CCMH is Celebrating 50 Years of Caring For You
Carrollton – 50 years ago-March 28th, 1961- Carroll County Memorial Hospital opened its doors to widespread praise and excitement. This was an event four years in the making. On June 16th that year, the first patient was admitted into the new 40-bed state of the art facility. Through the years the hospital prospered and in 1968, a decision was made to expand CCMH by an additional 40 beds. That facility was dedicated to the citizens of Carrollton in 1970. In 1998, a strategic plan was formulated and the resulting building project was completed in 2002. This initial expansion included Jefferson Park, a 30 unit independent living center, Lifestyle Fitness Center, rehabilitation and recreation center which is comprised of an indoor pool, sauna, hot tub, and indoor 1/16th mile walking track. The hospital also constructed a 7,500 square foot area which it leased to the Senior Center of Carroll County. In addition, a new acute care wing was built which allowed for 28 acute care patients. In 2006, CCMH proudly presented a unique, ultra-modern, critical access facility capable of providing current state of the art medical care and a continuum of health related services to the community. CCMH is perhaps the only facility in the Midwest capable of providing such a vast array of services on one campus.
