It celebrates the men and women who, day in and day out, remain committed to improving the health of their communities through compassionate care, constant innovation and unwavering, unmatched dedication. This is the annual opportunity to thank the dedicated individuals—physicians, therapist, technologist, nurses, support staff, volunteers, administrators and so many more—for their commitment. It’s also a great time for us to tell the hospital story and publicly reinforce the vital role hospitals play in their community’s overall health, which extends far beyond strictly providing medical care.

CCMH will host their annual blood drive on Thursday, May 14th from 11:30 - 3 p.m. Community Blood Bank from Kansas City is making appointments online at savealifenow.org by clicking the "Schedule an Appointment" icon and enter sponsor code CARROLLCMH.
The event will be located at CCMH in the Jefferson Park dining room. You can enter through the Senior Center doors. CCMH will be providing a shuttle service as a courtesy to take you to and from your car.

CCMH was able to implement a Career Advancement Program for Professional Nurses through a grant with the Missouri Hospital Association. The career ladder was rolled out in April of 2014. After one year of hard work and dedication to the Nursing Profession, CCMH, our patients, and our community, I am pleased to announce that Becky Cook has successfully challenged the Career Ladder and is an RN 2!

Carroll County Memorial Hospital Foundation is sponsoring a fundraising 5K Walk/Run. This event will be held Saturday, May 17th at 8:00a.m. beginning at the hospital parking lot. Participants will enjoy a course that will include the hospital campus, walking trail including newly established portion joining the hospital campus and school campus. “This event is a community event that demonstrates the hospitals commitment to wellness” Jeff Tindle, Chief Executive Officer stated. “This event not only highlights the newly formed CCMH Foundation to the community, but prominently displays our belief in the core values of this facility…Dedication to our Community and Partnerships that deliver comprehensive services.”
Event organizers are excited to offer both a walking event and a timed 5K course. Participants can register on-line . The early registration fee (offered through May 2nd) $25 entry fee includes a T-shirt and refreshments. After May 2nd the registration fee will be $30. Medals will be awarded to the top finishers in each category. Event organizer and Chief Operating Officer, Shannon Jordan, notes “the categories are broken out by age: The 5k race starts with 12 and under, 16-25, 25-40, 41-60, 61+. For the walking event there are 3 categories under 24, 25-49 and 50+. We are looking to have a fun event for all ages and ability levels to enjoy not just the event but the community and all it has to offer.”
All proceeds from the event will go to the newly formed Carroll County Memorial Hospital Foundation. The Foundation is responsible for charitable and educational purposes specifically for the benefit of the Carroll County Memorial Hospital, including establishing and managing scholarship funds, specific project and equipment donations. The Foundation was formed in March, 2013. The CCMH Foundation has its own website at www.carrollcountyhospital.org/foundation .
