A Successful Night Recognizing Breast Cancer at CCMH

October 25, 2017

CARROLLTON, Mo. – Last Thursday evening, October 19, was a successful event for Carroll County Memorial Hospital. The Treasure Your Chest committee was pleased with the turnout and overall participation of the 2nd annual event.

“Educating the public on the importance of women’s health, as well as offering a fun, low-stress evening with access to a more affordable approach to receiving important services is such a great thing for the community,” Dr. Jennifer Poston, CCMH Board of Directors member, said.

Several attendees took advantage of the discounted services offered during the event. All results from mammograms, DEXA and labs have been mailed out. Community members can still utilize the hospital’s offering of discounted mammograms through October 31.

During the event, attendees were able to donate a luminary in honor or memory of a loved one who experienced breast cancer. These luminaries are being placed along the wall of the Memorial Hallway, connecting the hospital to the Medical Plaza addition. Funds raised from the luminaries and bra auction will be donated to HELP Services.

“It is evident that breast cancer awareness is something the community is passionate about, considering the significant amount of volunteerism received from vendors, healthcare providers and hospital employees,” Christina Acord, CCMH Lead Mammography Technologist, said.

Next year’s event date has been set for October 18, 2018.
