Carroll County Memorial Hospital’s Senior Life Solutions Selected as 1 of 23 LEAD Training Sites in the Nation

July 21, 2025

CARROLLTON, Mo. – Carroll County Memorial Hospital’s (CCMH) Senior Life Solutions (SLS) Program was selected as one of only 23 Leadership Excellence Accountability Development (LEAD) training sites in the nation by Psychiatric Medical Care (PMC), who manages more than 160 SLS programs nationally. The training sites provide interactive learning opportunities for new program staff with the continued development of the SLS program.

“We are excited that our Senior Life Solutions program has received such high recognition,” said Scott Thoreson, CCMH Chief Executive Officer. “This is a great accomplishment for our communities given the size of our program, hospital, and service area.”

LEAD training sites were chosen because of their time of service with the company, their ability to uphold PMC’s 3Cs of Care, Compliance, and Community, and their ability to exemplify the company’s culture of accountability and kindness not only in training new staff but in their daily work serving their communities.

“We are thrilled to be chosen as a LEAD training site,” said Mindie Stovall, CCMH SLS Program Director. “Our staff have worked diligently to form a program that is beneficial to our patients and community, while addressing the mental health of our aging population.”

CCMH SLS is an intensive outpatient group therapy program designed to meet the unique emotional needs of individuals typically ages 65 and older who are struggling with life challenges, or depression and anxiety that can sometimes be related to aging. SLS offers professional support from an interdisciplinary team of healthcare professionals which includes the development of healthy coping skills, community resources, and guidance in managing all aspects of aging.

CCMH SLS team is led by Stovall, RN, Therapist Melissa Fletcher, LCSW, Office Patient Coordinator Kathy Lightfoot, LPN, and Medical Director and board-certified Psychiatrist, Dr. Marcie Shea.

“Once named as a LEAD training site, we started receiving requests almost immediately,” Stovall said. “We have trained new staff from the states of Washington and Colorado already. I believe it says something about the SLS staff and program at CCMH to see new team members coming from out of state for training. We are honored to be a LEAD training site and look forward to being a part of the development and growth of new staff members for SLS/PMC.”

There are 23 LEAD sites nationwide, and CCMH is the second in the state of Missouri, joining Wright Memorial Hospital’s SLS program in Trenton.
