CCMH Auxiliary Donates Items to Rehabilitation Services Department
December 05, 2017

CARROLLTON, Mo. – On Monday, December 4, Carroll County Memorial Hospital’s Auxiliary presented purchased items to the CCMH Rehabilitation Services Department to help assist in providing the best care to patients.
One of the main purposes of the CCMH Auxiliary is to raise funds to put back into the hospital; whether that be furniture for various areas of the hospital or updated equipment to allow CCMH the ability to improve the services they are able to offer.
Their most recent purchase was equipment for the Rehabilitation Services Department’s pediatric patients.
“We are delighted to have received some wonderful new pediatric equipment from our hospital Auxiliary,” said Nancy Lock, CCMH Director of Physical Therapy. “The items will allow infants and toddlers to practice climbing and crawling on foam inclines and steps and the new easel will allow children to work in a supported sitting position. We are certainly grateful for their generosity to us and the service they give the hospital.”
The third item donated to the department by the Auxiliary was a weighted blanket, which is used to provide self-calming, deep-pressure proprioceptive input to the brain and releases a hormone that is a calming chemical in the body.
The Auxiliary is currently made up of 20 volunteers who donate their time, service and craftsmanship throughout the year to both the employees of Carroll County Memorial Hospital and the patients they serve.
“We are so grateful for this generous gift from the CCMH Auxiliary,” said Tim Braun, CCMH Chief Operations Officer. “We obviously could not complete our mission without this type of support and I cannot wait to watch our littlest patients putting this equipment to use.”
