CCMH Continues to Give Back this Holiday Season
December 18, 2017

CARROLLTON, Mo. – The Holiday Season is very important to the employees of Carroll County Memorial Hospital. Their generosity shines even brighter in December as they take part with pride in a food drive and children’s gift adoption.
The Annual Holiday Food Drive is a fun challenge for CCMH employees to compete against each other by department, while also getting in the holiday spirit of giving back. Last year, they collected 3,245 pounds. This year, the CCMH staff surpassed that goal. Seven of the hospital’s departments raised over 20 pounds per employee.
“The CCMH Family continues to amaze me, as each year our employees contribute more to the community,” said Jeanne Meierer, CCMH Chief Nursing Officer and CCMH Christmas Committee Chairman. “CCMH staff donated over 3,398 pounds of food this year during our Annual Holiday Food Drive. I feel blessed to be a part of such a wonderful and giving organization.”
The collected food was donated to and will be distributed by the Carrollton Ministerial Alliance.
Also in partnership with the ministerial alliance, Carroll County Memorial Hospital sponsors an Angel Tree each year.
“This year local businesses, churches and Carroll County Memorial Hospital helped 130 families, 106 children and 338 people,” said Kristy Heussner, CCMH Nutrition Services Director and Angel Tree committee member. “CCMH employees adopted 76 of those children from Carrollton and the surrounding communities to help provide them with Christmas fun. I am so proud to be part of an organization that gives back throughout the year.”
“Every year during the Christmas distribution of food and gifts, I am amazed,” said Reverend Jeremy Payne of the Carrollton First Baptist Church. “The partnership of the businesses and organizations in our community come alongside Carroll County Memorial Hospital and Carrollton Ministerial Alliance to overwhelmingly provide food and gifts for those in our community who are struggling through the Christmas season. Way to go, Carrollton!”
