CCMH Foundation Donates Equipment to CCMH

June 03, 2020

CCMH Respiratory Therapists Stephanie McCracken and Sandy Berghager receive training from Tim Hocking, of Vapotherm Inc., on the new Vapotherm Precision Flow Plus that was purchased from Carroll County Memorial Hospital by the CCMH Foundation.

CARROLLTON, Mo. -- The Carroll County Memorial Hospital Foundation recently purchased two different types of equipment for Carroll County Memorial Hospital, to allow staff to continue providing patients with high-quality care.

“We are incredibly grateful for the CCMH Foundation’s ongoing support,” said Tim Braun, CCMH Chief Operations Officer. “During these challenging times for healthcare, their most recent donations will allow our staff to keep providing exceptional care with the technology we need.”

The GE B105 patient monitors are portable and can provide continuous monitoring of blood pressure, heart rate, pulse oximetry, cardiac and EtCO2. With these two new machines, staff will be able to care for higher acuity patients. They will also be an asset for the newly established hospitalist program at CCMH.

The Vapotherm Precision Flow Plus was designed with ease of use in mind. It offers control flow, oxygen, and temperature independently with the push of a single button. The devise also improves patient comfort and breathing, and helps keep them safe when a caregiver is not nearby.

“Due to the generosity of the CCMH Foundation, we are now able to provide a high flow nasal cannula system, Vapotherm,” said Sandy Berghager, CCMH Director of Cardiopulmonary & Rehab Services. “This piece of equipment will help patients in acute respiratory failure and will improve oxygenation and ventilation. We are excited to provide this service to our community.”

Carroll County Memorial Hospital Foundation is an independent 501(c)3 not-for-profit organization. Their mission is “to assist in the development and retention of healthcare professionals through educational support and financial contributions to Carroll County Memorial Hospital, assuring the availability of quality healthcare services for those we serve.”
