CCMH Foundation to Host Virtual Happy Hour

October 22, 2021

CARROLLTON, Mo. – Carroll County Memorial Hospital Foundation made the reluctant decision to cancel the 2021 Gala, in an effort to avoid putting the health of our donors and the community at risk. The Gala normally takes place in person each November. As an alternative, the Foundation will host a Virtual Happy Hour Nov. 6.

“Unfortunately with COVID-19, we’ve had tons of struggles with having to be able to have larger events,” said Dr. Andy Horine. “Last years was cancelled but we really wanted to make sure everyone had the opportunity to participate somehow this year.”

Table sponsorships are still available but with a fun, themed-basket twist ranging from luaus, flaming fiesta, hillbilly holiday and more. If you purchase a Table Basket, it will be available to be picked up at the Carroll County Memorial Hospital main entrance 24 hours a day, starting at 4 p.m. Nov. 3 through Nov. 6.

One of the benefits of virtual is you can dress your way. Be sure to visit our website https://givebutter.com/CCMHFoundationVirtualHappyHour between now and October 28 to check out virtual tables and other ways you can get involved.

For convenience, you can text CCMHFoundation to 202-858-1233 for a direct link to the Virtual Happy Hour webpage.

“We created this event to provide an opportunity for people to get together virtually, watch some funny videos, learn a little about the Foundation and raise money for an important cause,” said Rachel Davidson, CCMH Foundation Director. “Foundation funds are used to provide scholarships, help those in need with medications, medical equipment and transportation, and ultimately ensure we have access to healthcare close to home.”

Tune into the CCMH Foundation Facebook page at www.facebook.com/CCMHFoundationMO at 4 p.m. Saturday, November 6, to watch our virtual program. If you are unable to watch it at that time, the recording will remain available.

CCMH Foundation was founded in 2013. Although it has flown mostly under the radar, generous supporters have already helped the Foundation raise over $500,000 since its inception. It has distributed over $50,000 in scholarships to individuals seeking careers in healthcare.

Two years ago, generous donors helped the Foundation establish The Hope Fund providing funds to help patients with purchasing medications and assistive devices, offering transportation support and providing home health resources. This year, the Foundation assisted the hospital with the purchase of new 3D Mammography Equipment.

As Baby Boomers age, there will be an increased need for medical care. Unfortunately, future projections also suggest a shortage of healthcare workers. It is the Foundation's ultimate goal to ensure healthcare sustainability for our community and the surrounding area.

Through the technological advances of telehealth and electronic health records, CCMH staff are able to work closely with their partners in urban healthcare centers, which allows them to provide the same quality care locally.

Access to rural healthcare means staying home, receiving services at home and recovering at home.
