CCMH Moves to One Entrance Effective March 30
March 27, 2020
CARROLLTON, Mo. – Carroll County Memorial Hospital announced effective Monday, March 30, the Main Entrance, will be the only open entrance to the public. This will also serve as the entrance for all walk-in emergencies and will be open 24 hours a day. CCMH will continue to screen all patients entering the facility upon arrival.
“CCMH is following recommendations from national health organizations and surrounding area hospitals to minimize public entrances to just one,” said Jeff Tindle, CCMH CEO. “This allows CCMH to provide care to all of the people who depend on CCMH for their healthcare needs, while providing a safe environment for those patients and staff members dedicating their time to protect the health of patients in our facility and the community against the coronavirus, COVID-19.”
CCMH will no longer be allowing anyone to enter the facility through the CCMH Medical Plaza, former Emergency Walk-In or CCMH 4 Corners Café, which rehab therapy patients were using to get to appointments.
Patients are encouraged to park in front of and to the north of the Main Entrance. Signs will be placed to help denote parking areas.
“We know that limiting access to the facility may inconvenience patients entering the facility for appointments, but it is of utmost importance to remain diligent in following our safety protocols to keep our communities safe,” Tindle said.
CCMH staff will be available to help direct individuals on where to go and how to get there, as these changes may cause some confusion.
All patients entering our facility will still need to be screened. If patients are experiencing any symptoms of illness, they will be asked to wear a mask and seek treatment, if necessary.
CCMH is still enforcing the No Visitor Policy. There will be exceptions to the policy only for those individuals deemed necessary to the patient’s care, including:
- One dedicated parent/caregiver for pediatric or mentally disabled patients who cannot be left alone
- One dedicated caregiver/driver for outpatient surgery patients
- One dedicated caregiver/driver for outpatient services, such as Physical Therapy or other outpatient diagnostic services.
- Special considerations will be given to family members for patients where end of life care is being given.
Any individual granted an exception must screen negative to enter the facility.
CCMH continues to work in close partnership with state and local health departments and the CDC and will provide updates as needed.
The Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services activated a statewide public hotline at 877-435-8411 for citizens needing guidance regarding COVID-19. The hotline is operated by medical professionals and available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
