CCMH Recognized as Show-Me Excellence Award Winners

February 22, 2021

CARROLLTON, Mo. – Carroll County Memorial Hospital has received statewide recognition for two marketing projects that the hospital produced in 2020 to educate and inform community members and area residents, as well as staff.

“We’re honored that the work of Carroll County Memorial Hospital has been selected to receive this statewide recognition,” said Rachel Davidson, CCMH Senior Director of Marketing Strategy.

The Show-Me Excellence Awards, presented annually by the Missouri Association for Healthcare Public Relations and Marketing (MAHPRM), recognize high achievement and superb quality in advertising, marketing and public relations projects produced by hospitals and health care systems throughout the state.

CCMH’s Jefferson Medical Group’s Sports Medicine Clinic radio ad received first place in the Radio Adversity (with production costs of $1,000 or less) category.

Jefferson Medical Group has the unique opportunity to offer a sports medicine clinic, staffed by our own Dr. Timothy Reid, to patients in the area.

“Frequently, patients relate sports medicine to sports injuries only,” Davidson said. “The radio ad’s purpose was to increase the understating that sports medicine is also for all activity-related injuries.”

CCMH’s in-house employee newsletter received the honor of third place in the Internal Publications (routine) electronic category.

The Beat is an internal communication piece that is distributed to over 250 employees. In addition to employees, this newsletter is released to CCMH board members.

“The content within the newsletter is geared towards our employees to help inform them of changes, upcoming events or other happenings throughout the hospital that they need to be aware of,” said Rachel Harper, CCMH Digital Marketing Manager. “To better serve our patients, it is important that our staff stay informed and feel connected.”

Due to COVID-19, the in-person awards presentation was not able to take place. However, a video presentation of the winners was created and presented exclusively online to MAHPRM members and the awards were mailed. A statewide panel of public relations and marketing professionals judged the 139 entries in this year’s competition.

The awards competition was established by MAHPRM in 1981 and is the only Missouri competition dedicated to hospital and health care public relations and communications efforts. With 22 categories, the competition included projects in media relations, advertising, publications, writing, photography, marketing and public relations.
