CCMH Supports National Patient Safety Awareness Week with Focus on Local Efforts
March 10, 2023
CARROLLTON, Mo. – Carroll County Memorial Hospital (CCMH) continuously focuses on the care and safety of our patients and community members. To support this year-round effort, CCMH will highlight potential patient safety issues, spread patient safety awareness and provide community education while celebrating Patient Safety Awareness Week.
“From March 12-18, we are emphasizing that safety in the delivery of healthcare is a top priority, all the time,” said Megan Griffin, CCMH Safety and Risk Coordinator. “Safe care is an incredibly important aspect of our work, and Carroll County Memorial Hospital focuses on safety in all relationships.”
CCMH has several key initiatives planned for Patient Safety Awareness Week and beyond. For staff, CCMH will highlight the Safe Transfer and Great Catch Winners, encourage reporting of incidents and near misses, educate on fall prevention, review the 2023 National Patient Safety Goals, and recap Med Sled training. Staff can also participate in activities such as a picture contest and educational word search games to win prizes, treats and other safety-related activities.
CCMH encourages patients and family members to be involved in the care process and ask, “How do you provide safe care?” Because, together we are better, stronger and safer.
