CARROLLTON, Mo. – Carroll County Memorial Hospital welcomes Dr. Clint Gates, MD, to the Outpatient Specialty Clinic team. Dr. Gates expands local surgical services with a primary focus on gallbladder surgery and hernia repair. He also offers a broad range of general surgery procedures, including gastrointestinal, skin and soft tissue, and anorectal surgeries, using both laparoscopic and open techniques.

“We are so excited to add Dr. Gates to our General Surgery team,” said Scott Thoreson, CCMH Chief Executive Officer. “Our goal is to continue supporting the community’s need for additional general surgery care, including the ability to receive that care right here at CCMH.”

Dr. Gates will perform general surgery procedures in our advanced surgical suite including laparoscopic gallbladder and appendix removal, EGD, colon resections, skin lesion removals, breast biopsies, mastectomy and more. He sees patients twice a week in our Outpatient Specialty Clinic and Surgical Services Department.

“Dr. Gates was most recently employed as Chief of Trauma services at CenterPoint and held the same position at St. Joseph Hospital prior to that,” said Blake Riley, CCMH Chief Operations Officer. “Dr. Gates’ reputation is stellar, and he is excited to step away from trauma and refocus on private practice general surgery.”

Dr. Gates received his Doctor of Medicine from the University of Kansas School of Medicine in Kansas City and Wichita, Kan. He completed his General Surgery Residency at the University of Kansas School of Medicine in Wichita, Kan.

He is board-certified by the American Board of Surgery and a licensed physician and surgeon by the State of Missouri.
