CCMH Welcomes Kaylea Coats, FNP-C, to Jefferson Medical Group

CARROLLTON, Mo. – Carroll County Memorial Hospital (CCMH) and Jefferson Medical Group (JMG) are pleased to welcome Kaylea Coats, FNP-C, as the newest provider serving patients and families throughout the region. Coats will begin seeing patients in JMG August 10.
An American Association of Nurse Practitioners (AANP) Certified Family Nurse Practitioner, Coats provides compassionate, evidence-based care for patients of all ages, from newborns to older adults. Her clinical interests include preventive medicine, women's health, and promoting lifelong wellness through patient-centered care.
A native of Norborne, Coats was raised on a family farm, where she developed a strong work ethic and a passion for serving others. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Missouri Western State University and later completed her Master of Science in Nursing, Family Nurse Practitioner program through the University of Cincinnati.
Coats is no stranger to CCMH. She began her healthcare career with the organization in May 2017 as a certified nursing assistant. After becoming a registered nurse, she cared for patients in Inpatient Services, the Outpatient Clinic, and Home Health. She also served as a school nurse for three years. With nine years of experience at CCMH and deep roots in the community, Coats is excited to begin this next chapter caring for local families as a family nurse practitioner.

Coats says her decision to continue her healthcare career at CCMH was deeply personal.
“Carroll County has always been my home,” said Coats. “My husband and I chose to return to the area after college to raise our family close to our roots and near people we love. Having worked at CCMH for many years, I have seen firsthand the dedication and compassion of our staff. I was excited for the opportunity to continue serving the community that helped shape me.”
As a family nurse practitioner, Coats is particularly passionate about developing meaningful relationships with patients.
“I am most excited about building lasting relationships with patients and their families while helping them achieve their health goals,” she said. “I look forward to being a trusted healthcare resource for individuals and families throughout every stage of life. One of my favorite aspects of practicing medicine is educating patients and helping them navigate everyday health concerns while being there for important life milestones.”
Jean Steele, Director of Jefferson Medical Group, said Coats’ experience and commitment to community health make her an ideal fit for the clinic.

Outside of work, Coats enjoys gardening, running, exercising, spending time with family, and participating in church activities. She has been married to her high school sweetheart for 11 years, and together they have three children. She also sings with her church praise and worship team each Sunday.
