Fall Has Arrived at CCMH

November 22, 2016

Carroll County Memorial Hospital received the Above & Beyond Award for 2016 by the Carrollton Area Economic Alliance.

by Jeff Tindle, CCMH CEO

Fall has arrived and it looks as though we are going to have another dynamic season here at Carroll County Memorial Hospital. There are so many things happening that we are excited to bring to our community. In this edition of the On Pulse, you will see articles about the new CCMH 4 Corners Café, the Jefferson Medical Group’s new Sports Medicine Clinic, new Outpatient services including Urology, Neurosurgery, second Podiatrist, and the list goes on.

Of all the wonderful things we have been blessed with at CCMH, we are possibly most proud of an award that we were presented with from the Carrollton Area Economic Alliance this year. We were humbled to accept the Above and Beyond Award as Business of the Year. CCMH is in the service business 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. This may not sound like much but while most of us are asleep in bed or home watching it snow or off work due to a holiday, employees of the CCMH Care Team are here taking care of our friends, family members or just those in need that have chosen CCMH as their hospital of choice. These selfless, dedicated 200 strong are as good as you can find. We are so proud of each CCMH associate and dedicate that great award to each and every one of them.

We opened the CCMH 4 Corners Café to the public on November 14. 4 Corners is the recognition of four important business lines that all come together in the southeast side of our campus. Those important services are CCMH Rehabilitation Services, Jefferson Park and Lifestyle Fitness Center, Care Connection and our newly expanded and greatly enhanced cafeteria, 4 Corners Café. 4 Corners Café is open daily to serve hospital staff, patients and the community. Operating hours are 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. daily. The Café partners with Care Connection to offer seniors a lunch meal daily from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. The public is welcome for lunch, and dinner which will be served from 4:30 to 8 p.m.

I am very pleased to announce that Dr. Timothy Reid, who along with his Family Medicine Board Certification has a Fellowship in Sports Medicine, will be opening a Sports/Exercise Medical clinic through the Jefferson Medical Group. This clinic, which opened October 31, is unique to the area and will see patients on Monday afternoons. We are so happy to be able to support our Primary Care physicians who not only take care of you and your family on a regular basis, but can also provide care for specialty needs as well. If you have a sports or exercise related injury, please make an appointment to see Dr. Reid on Monday afternoons and take advantage of this local medical benefit.

This year, CCMH partnered with HCC to offer our annual Health and Wellness Fair on November 19 at the Carrollton High School Gymnasium. We hosted over 50 different booths from the community as well as internal hospital departments to make sure that all of our citizens have access to quality healthcare right here at home. Many annual medical services/testing were offered at discounted prices to promote preventative health.

Finally, I remind you CCMH continues to grow to meet your needs. Many, many years ago we closed our surgical service. Over the past few years, 800-1,000 people needing outpatient day surgery have traveled to other communities to have surgical procedures performed. These procedures - gallbladder, appendix, hernias, knee/shoulder scopes and many more examples - are now performed at CCMH daily.

Support your local hospital, minimize your travel and visit one of our physicians or surgeons soon to see if you can have a needed procedure completed in our new state-of-the-art facility.
