Dr. Janish earned his medical degree from Mayo Clinic Alix School of Medicine and completed his residency in internal medicine at Mayo Clinic College of Medicine and Science in Rochester, MN. After residency, Dr. Janish worked as a hospitalist for five years before completing his fellowship training and subspecialty training in cardiovascular disease and interventional cardiology, respectively, at Indiana University in Indianapolis, IN.
Dr. Janish is a board-certified and fellowship-trained interventional cardiologist.
Dr. Janish was drawn to cardiology early in medical school, inspired by both the intricate physiology of the cardiovascular system and personal experiences with heart disease in his own extended family. He finds it deeply meaningful to care for patients with cardiac conditions and to provide lifesaving interventions when they are needed most.
As an interventional cardiologist, Dr. Janish specializes in minimally invasive, catheter-based procedures to diagnose and treat patients with acute myocardial infarctions (heart attacks), chronic coronary artery disease, valvular heart disease, lower extremity peripheral vascular disease, chronic heart failure and cardiogenic shock. He has particular expertise in coronary intervention for patients with complex chronic coronary artery disease including use of intravascular imaging guidance and advanced plaque modification techniques to optimize procedural success as well as expertise in the procedural management of acute cardiac emergencies such as acute myocardial infarction (heart attack) and cardiogenic shock.
