Dr. Smith earned his Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry from the University of Missouri–Columbia and went on to receive his Medical Degree from Saint Louis University School of Medicine. He completed his General Surgery residency at the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center, where he was recognized for his commitment to teaching and excellence in patient care, earning the prestigious Golden Apple Teacher of the Year Award during his tenure as Chief Resident.

Dr. Smith treats a wide range of conditions including appendicitis, gallbladder disease, complex hernias, colon cancer, Crohn’s disease, GERD, diverticulitis, skin cancers, and more. He performs numerous procedures such as appendectomies, cholecystectomies, removal and insertion of port a caths, hernia repairs, cyst removals, excision of masses, colectomies, colostomies, feeding tubes, lymph node biopsies and endoscopies.
Outside of his professional life, Dr. Smith enjoys spending time with his family, staying active, cooking, and walking trails with his wife and their dogs. He especially enjoys supporting his children in their collegiate sports activities.
